Recycling Project - Conserve: Recycle
1. What students LEARNED and how
Students have learned how to be change agents for the environment. They have learned this by being in charge of the recycling program for Deerfield Elementary. Students developed our recycling program and got it up and running for a brand new school. Students began to track and chart data to determine the needs for our recycling program, such as more pick up days and larger containers. Students created iMovies to inform others about the importance of recycling and our recycling program at DES. Students have learned how to collect, sort, and organize different recyclable materials. Students have learned how to work with community members and each other to accomplish their recycling goals. Students have learned how to use a variety of technology tools to promote, persuade, and inform others about recycling.
2. What students ACCOMPLISHED (and how you measured results)
Students accomplished creating a recycling program, organizing the collection of these recyclable materials, and educating the school about the importance of recycling these materials. Student began to track and chart the amount of recycled material in a data notebook.
3. What students TAUGHT others and how
Students taught others through many ways: iMovies shown in their classroom, posters placed around the school, leadership by running the recycling program for the school, and organizing the recycling data.
